Our care home in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside is purpose built for 35 residents, set in beautiful award-winning landscaped gardens, which provide peaceful outdoor areas for everyday enjoyment.

There is a greenhouse where residents are assisted to grow their own vegetables, we also have a summer house and raised fishpond. In addition we also have a resident budgie and some guinea pigs for pet lovers.

Located in a secluded position in Whitley Bay town centre, the home has easy access to local shops, transport and other local amenities – as well as beautiful beaches and the North East coastline. There is also limited on-site parking.

At our Whitley Bay care home residents can make new friendships and be part of a community where they can enjoy life, be independent and feel safe and secure.

There is a comfortable spacious lounge and a large conservatory with direct level access to the south facing garden. Our cosy dining room is the hub of the home, where residents meet for meals or to join in activities, such as arts, crafts, reminiscing, singing, dancing and exercise which creates a warm and stimulating atmosphere. Dawn Esslemont

Our Whitley Bay care home is managed by Dawn Esslemont, who joined Eothen in 2018 and is passionate about delivering high quality, personalised care ensuring that residents are treated with dignity and respect. Dawn leads by example and enjoys nurturing staff and promoting a positive working culture. Her previous role in assessing Heath & Social CareĀ Management meant she was responsible for assessing other care home managersā€™ competence and is well versed in the standards expected in care home environments.
